Registration required: Register by August 20th and include 1. Names/ages of all children who will attend (even younger sibs who may just be napping) and 2. Names/ages of all children who will participate in the OPTIONAL presentation portion (see below).
What: Fall Story of the World Timeline Class (Sept - Dec only, will not meet in spring)
When: Fridays 10:30am
Where: Wuhou Culture Center 10th floor Maker Coffee Shop (where the Chengdu Homeschool Conference was held).
Who: All ages, littles through high school and accompanying parent(s)
Begins: September 2nd at 10:30am.
This class will:
- help your kids get an overall sense of history.
- use signs and song to remember major events of history.
- encourage you to put together your own Timeline of History.
- provide materials for you to put together a timeline if you feel overwhelmed doing it yourself.
- use emailed files for you to print for events to paste on your timeline.
- welcome all sizes and siblings.
- have no age minimum or maximum.
- be open to nationals with a decent English level.
- be free.
During the class we will:
- look at visual cards regarding a historical fact.
- teach a sign to remember the fact.
- sing along with the Timeline Song from Classical Conversations.
- use printables, such as the Time Fact cards at the back of the Story of the World books.
OPTIONAL:
Weekly presentations by children during which they choose one topic from the previous week to share about in a small group of their peers. This will allow children of all ages/abilities to practice presenting at an age-appropriate level.
